Sunny Sundays...

This morning finds me on my last stretch of early morning shifts for the next couple of days. I'm sitting here jammin the above joint for some reason and now listening to Tawatha Agee sing 'The wait is over.' I'm sleepy and hungry. I'm trying to refrain from filling myself up with food at this moment. lol

Last night was awesome!!!! After dropping Aerica off it was just us four guys: Pastor Will, myself, Brian, and Tony and wowwwwww!!! A collection of tomorrows furture in the way of masculine leadership and authority. Here we are in the car, a collection of artists in every meaning of the word. singers, poets, writers, thespians...just artists! I was amazed but the amazement didn't really hit me until after we dropped my brother, Brian off home...thats when I sat back and like drinking a potent drink...the realization smacked me across the back of the head and I was like "OH WOW!" These men are important to me...they are connected to my life...i've got to learn how to cherish them fully...before I can get to the great men of tomorrow; i've got to honor the great men of my right NOW!

We compliment each other wonderfully...and Pastor remarked one of Bishop Winters' quotes about 'if each of you were moments, I would live in you...' I thought that was so fitting and beautiful, then he followed it by saying that he enjoys living in each of us...wow. I was able to say that I'd never had meaningful relationships and connections with men outside of the bed and random hook-ups. Its power...I think if men can get back to the rudimentary fundamentals of right-relationship with other men...there would be nothing denied to us. Like its crazy how divided we as men are today. The only time we chill and can engage in intimacy, closeness, companionship, and substantial conversation is if we're in the weight room, playing basketball/football or any other sport for that matter, at a bar drinking etc. and the only subjects we can speak on are related to how many females we've smashed, 'where the b*****s at?' foolish 'compare your d**k size' goings...its quite foolish and neanderthal-ic!

In any event...we must do better as a society of men and espeically as black men! Whewwww! In any event the evening was beautiful! Man we talked about so many deep things that needed to be discussed. Discussed stuff pertaining to the government and how what we percieve to be a democracy is actually a false democracy. In the next fifteen to twenty years the United States could very well trade in their coat of democracy and end up becoming a militaristic state under the control of a militarial dictator. We were told that underground talk was the situation that happened during Katrina down here in Louisiana was actually the government striving to try and see how a country run by martial law would look...wow! Such things like that were discussed and it felt good to discuss things that were actually of substance and will effect us as a whole. I love my brothers...love and cherish them.
