A fellow poet and friend of mine hipped me to this video by songstylist, Marsha Ambrosius entitled 'Far Away.' I watched it and my thoughts about it, or rather about whats potrayed are vastly different from what it would have been circa 2004 or 2005. Admirable music and theme...the prevention of suicides that happen as a result of bullying and those other ruthless things that flow in that vein and from a spiritual side I do see the compromise that interweaves the good intention...so its very interesting to me considering the subjects presented or really the reality presented could still be appealing to that side fantastical side of me that would yearn for that particular stream of existence...but I have to wonder...are we able to see beyond the good intention of a thing to the root f it. Are we aware of the power of media...and what media presents to us? I'm becoming increasingly awakened to the fact that EVERYTHING is NOT what it appears, and one CANNOT take anything or at least 90% of what we see, hear, feel, touch, or taste outside of Yah's words and actions...which are the ONLY things that can ABSOLUTELY be trusted and taken at face-value. Its a sad state of affairs but the prevailing reality.
I watched the video and was like: 'wow...this IS appealing...' and as my brother-poet said. one could seemingly be seduced (of course I believe one that is innately weak in terms of not fully strengthened in resistance to that fantasy...), however what she presented in song is what many people are dealing with and people that I know of personally. Some moments, the hardest thing to do is NOT TO LOOK BACK at what was. Its amazing how we are taught to embrace the past failures and mistakes and marred areas of our lives that have gotten us to where we are in the present moment...but at the same time it is so difficult to not to look back and not to want to go back and not too forsake the progress for the pressure that got you there...
and at that I will end this with that...
